N2 - Abstract. Background. Heart failure is a common condition in developed countries, which can progress to an advanced stage that no longer responds to treatment. An early palliative approach is therefore essential to improve patients’ QoL and symptom management. However, palliative care is often overlooked, especially in hospital settings. Aim. This scoping review examines the role of nurses in the early identification of heart failure patients who require palliative care. Results. The analysis highlights two main areas: the role of nurses in hospital settings (9 studies) and the early management of hospitalized heart failure patients (19 studies). Conclusion. Nurses play a key role in the early management of heart failure patients in hospitals, contributing to better symptom control, improved QoL, and appropriate shared care planning. Enhancing training and fostering multidisciplinary collaboration are essential to ensure more effective care.
